ACME canine’s staff enjoys working with all breeds and all ages of dogs. They are committed to making dogs decent members of society and a joy to own. ACME canine’s training techniques are based on evaluating the personality of the dog and the needs of its owner. As part of ACME canine’s service, certified trainers counsel dog owners as well as instruct them on proper dog handling skills. ACME canine believes when working with a dog it is important to educate the owner not just on the ‘how’ of things, but also the ‘why.’

+ Meet the Owner: Laura Pakis
Laura Pakis is the owner of ACME canine, LLC and endorsed by the State
of Ohio as a professional dog trainer and by the AKC as a Canine Good
Citizen Evaluator. Laura is a certified E-Touch Trainer, PetSaver Trainer and soon to obtain her
American Red Cross Pet First Aid Instructor certification.
Organized, efficient and precise with strong communications and liaison
skills, Laura Pakis responds to a client’s needs with custom training
programs tailored to each customer’s goals and dog’s needs.
Laura maintains memberships with several training and behavior focused
organizations as a way for her clients to benefit from the latest knowledge
of canine learning theory, canine psychology and behavior modification.
To sharpen her skills she attends continuing education conferences and
seminars each year.
Recently Laura was nominated for the Worthington Chamber’s Small Business
Person of the Year Award! She was singled out from among several thousand
contacts at more than 700 Chamber member businesses; reflecting the skills,
talents and professional reputation Laura has and continues to build in her
growing business.
Laura Pakis, CPT, believes in giving back to the community. She has
volunteered her services as an Annie’s Outreach Service Dog trainer
and taught puppy development through Franklin County’s prison
program. In addition Laura presented dog bite safety at Powell’s
safety town, dog care workshops through Delaware District Libraries
and Marysville Public Library, Tricks for Treats at Bark Til Dark Dog
Park, as well as written articles for Animal
Outreach.

+ Meet Alice Williamson:
Alice Williamson is a Master Trainer graduate of National K9 training school in Columbus, Ohio and has been training dogs for five years. She shares
her life with Krystal and Greg, two Dalmatians. She attends various conferences and seminars to continue to expand her training knowledge.
Alice is a certified professional trainer, E-touch trainer and also a certified PetSaver technician. Her specialty training areas include puppy development and behavior modification and Alice is our primary Puppy Preschool instructor. She can advise you on breed selection and temperament testing.
Alice works with many of our clients with in-home training sessions and is especially skilled in obedience training.
+ Meet Laura Foley:
Knowledgeable, sweet, and compassionate describe our newest trainer, Laura Foley. Laura is a certified professional dog trainer and graduate of National K-9, a local school for dog trainers that is known worldwide. She achieved the master trainer level of the course which includes puppy development, support work, search and rescue, protection training as well as basic and advanced obedience.
Laura has had a passion for dogs from the time she could walk, and currently has 4 dogs of her own; 2 Australian shepherds and 2 Labrador retrievers. "I absolutely adore every dog I meet and get to work with! It's the greatest thing to have a job where I get to do what I truly love day in and day out!" states Laura.
In her spare time Laura is usually spending some quiet time at home, or out to the movies.
+ Meet Woofie:

Claude’s Woofgang (affectionately known as Woofie) is an AKC registered Giant Schnauzer. He is certified as a therapy dog and AKC Canine Good Citizen. Woofie has been trained in support work, search and rescue techniques as well as basic and advanced obedience. He has appeared in Business First and Dog Magazine and on ONN and NBC television. He even has his own commercial! Woofie is a valuable member of the Acme Canine staff. As a demonstration dog, Woofie, executes many of his talents before children and adults promoting dog etiquette and canine relationships.
+ Meet Gina Aikins:
Gina Aikins is a December 2005 graduate of the Master Trainer program at National K-9 School for Dog Trainers in Columbus, Ohio. Her Certification includes endorsements in:

• Utility training
• Retrieval
• Support dog training for the disabled
• Personal Protection
Gina also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Small Animal Science from Delaware Valley College as well her license as a registered veterinary technician from Columbus State Community College. Gina is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and the National K-9 Dog Trainers Association. She continues her education by attending workshops and seminars in dog behavior and training throughout the year. She also volunteers at Citizens for Humane Action animal shelter in Westerville, Ohio.

Gina currently owns 2 dogs; “Kirby” a boxer/lab mix and a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Boxer named “Ramona”
